PRESENTATION SUMMARY
USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) released Form I-9’s new version in Aug 2023 and employers have to start using it on November 1, 2023. Dave Basham, a former USCIS Sr. subject matter expert Form I-9 and E-Verify speaker, will conduct an in-depth session covering the new version’s changes including; reducing the form from 2 pages down to 1 page; moved the Preparer/Translator Certification portion to Optional Supplement A; Section 3 is now a separate page called Supplement B Reverification and Rehire; Additional Acceptable Receipts have been added to the List of Acceptable Documents; a major overhaul of the M-274 (Guidance or Employers manual); and employers who participate in the new ‘Remote Document Examination’ (RDE), which reduces the burden on employer & employees and support a virtual work environment, must enroll in E-Verify (if not already enrolled). Additionally, many Form I-9 tips, dos and don’ts will be discussed. At the end of the presentation a question-and-answer session will be conducted and attendees will receive SHRM credit along with a copy of the presentation. I can guarantee that this webinar will be unlike any Form I-9 session you’ve attended in the past!
